Race Logos
Version 1.02 has a better readme and the option to have her not vocally patronize you infinitum :-)

This custom enemy race has animation, sound, is 100% Metaverse compatible, and also includes both positive AND negative attributes. If you're a fan of System Shock (or just want to see what a fully customized race is like), then you should really enjoy this. She's well balanced, and should give you an excellent challenge. Hope you enjoy your first encounter (make sure your sound/music is on). Full installation instructions are included in the readme. And do yourself a favor... don't listen to the mp3 before you play against her. It would ruin a little of the fun.

Hey how do I open this cos it doesn't have an extention its just a file and in file properties it says: "File Type: File" I have tried opening in widows explorer but I cant find it in the browse for program thing and I have tried opening it in notepad (Didn't change anything) and it was just jibberish!

Doesnt work with TA :( As in it doesnt show up in the "availible opponents" list, and yes i edited the search paths in the file to reflect the new TA folder where i put the movies and avatar pics :)

The file that is downloaded is called Sentient, not SHODAN and it is not executable. I even tried downloading and installing Winzip, but the file is still not executable.

I am getting a message that my Metaverse game is invalid whenever i use SHODAN as one of my opponents. Have you been having a similar problem lately?

This update is now available with the requested "music only" . It is listed as:

Race 11 (no voice).mp3

Just rename it to Race11.mp3 and over-write the old file.

hmm.... the "hackers" part is awfully annoying. maybe you could include the default one AND the music after the "hackers" part

Ogre - that's OK! It's always better to be safe and ask questions. I'm going to update the mod soon so people can switch her off if they get tired of her constantly belittling you - hehe.

Ok I redid it this time it worked sorry for saying it was a virus but the way i tried to install it originally it came up with that warning

Da Sloth - yes you're correct, it is the "account name" not computer name. The file will be installed after double clicking the self-installing zip (shodan.exe). It should end up in your \\GC2DarkAvatar\\ folder.

Ogre - it's not a virus. I included a self-installing zipfile. What virus protection are you using? It sounds pretty terrible if it confuses a zipfile with a virus.

When I tried to download this it told my verizon internet security suite that this was a VIRUS and gave the name something called win???

Instructions say to modify the Sentient Data Network.customracexml file. Where is this file?? Also, what you show isn't the computer name, I think it's the account name.
