Current version: 1.7.6
The Galactopedia is a utility program for Stardock’s excellent space strategy game Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, providing you with exhaustive information on all objects and technologies defined by the game. The information is taken directly from the game’s data files, and therefore always up-to-date.

This version is based on version 1.6.1, released on 10 December 2006, by Christoph Nahr.
I have made it Twilight of the Arnor compatible, fixed several bugs, and provided a few new minor features. And possible introduced some new bugs in the process. This version is also, unlike 1.6.1, fully compatible with the latest version of Dark Avatar. The modified source code can be provided upon request.

I installed Galactopedia to run with my Steam-installed GC2. It could not find the path to the xml files it needs to provide the tech tree data, so I needed to direct it to where Steam had put that data.

For others using Steam who run into this difficulty, here is the path to the data for Galactopedia:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\MetaverseData

Maybe a few years to late but i just downloaded GCII Ultimate.
Thanks very much for this. Will make things a little easier getting my head round the new tech trees.

What is the default patch for the game saves? It isn't listed in the readme

for some reason I keep downloading version 1.7.4, which is not ToA compoatible (it doesn't have the unique techs, weapons, and improvements). can anyone help me?

I like the program, but it would be nice if it included AI values, "Willingnesstotrade", and other stuff not visible in the game....

Wow. i just found this mod and loaded it in. Great program that is going to make things much easier to find in the tech tree for me from now on.

A most welcomed addition to anyone's toolbox if they ever want to receive thorough details about technologies (+++ plenty!) and, even more so now, with the new multiple trees found in Twilight.
Highly recommended.
And thank you also for the excellent work, Netriak. :)

Thank you for doing this. I missed the program whilst it was not being updated. With two monitors this program saves a lot of searching for which techs i need for 'X' improvement.
