Planets MOD

This mod adds more planet designs to the game, so you won't get the same green earth-like planet over and over again! This includes, Lava Worlds, more Ice Worlds, more Desert Worlds, Beach, Tundra, Swamp worlds etc.

I have also added planets for each of the major races, and assigned them in CustomPlanets.xml to appear in game as appropriate.

Each Planet also contains new textures for the invasions animation.

Also included is an extended set of gas giant planet textures for the Class 0 worlds of the galaxy.

Can I assign these custom planets of yours to a custom race in my game or are they only attatched to the major races? for instance an aquatic custom race to an aquatic world? If not, are there any mods out there that can help me to do that?

Absolutely love this mod. Really upped the variety of various worlds, makes for a much less repetitive experience. The "Pluto" planets and the "Island" planets are probably my favorites. Way to go!

Would just like to add, that the problems with my new string entries in the screen.str, with
strings like MarsTerranTypeDesert or MarsTerranTypePrairie, are gone since I updated GC
from version 1.20 to 1.31, this seems to be fixed.
So I have only the normal issues like 'displaying mountains insteed jungle' a.s.o.

Thanks, also for the 'override hint' must testing this soon as possible.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I add a few extra worlds every now and then.

Most of the planets are lower quality, so you might not see them very often in the normal game, as there are rarely low-quality planets. Shame really.

I'm hoping that DA will allow specific planet types to the colour schemes, so that and Ice World will always look like an Ice World, for example. And I'm also hoping that low quality planets will be more common!

This mod is excellent. I've been using it for a while, and it is a total blast. Great work man, keep it up.

I think I might have fixed the "ocean displaying as desert" type bugs. It seems with the override tags, if your use them, you have to override the next colour scheme back to normal... Basically having an overrie entry for every terrain in every colour scheme greatly minimises these occurances.

It still happens occasionally, usually with the first tile where the "Initial Colony" is.

Good Job MaverickMW ! Last week I did my own little PlanetMod (can't publishing because copyrights of several gfx) and have the same issue as you reported in the last point of your ReadMe.
Think that must have to do with the hard code, not with your files. All works pretty until the
the game crapped first time one of the new entries in the screens.string file.
After that point the game changes the terrain gfx files from time to time, i.e. ocean tiles at
earth shown after that (in my mod) as mars desert.

hey! that's my idea of "terrain raw generator" I thought it's not possible, nice work!

what is mateverse compatible? mods can be used in the metaverse?

The CustomPlanets file definatly won't be. I haven't tested just the TerrainColourSchemes and the PlanetDescriptions file, as I don't play Metaverse (always on the go).

I would imagine it should be ok because it doesn't change anything. If you wnat to try, just delete the CustomPlanets file from the mod and give it a go. Let me know.

Is this mod MV compatible ??
