Improvements
Gives you a choice of what planetary improvements to build once you have researched more advanced ones. Also, improvements don't automatically upgrade.

The AI does not automatically upgrade improvements either.

No auto upgrades(NAU)? Does the computer players use NAU or do yhey use AU?
If not this sounds like a cheat? giving a player and advantage?
